Needed something strong enough for trimming tree branches but not a full sized chain saw. Took care of that plus it makes pruning back bushes and plants easier that you may have cut by hand before. This is pretty impressive for its size. Plus there is a hand guard of sorts to keep what you are cutting, off of and away from you. So felt more confident buying this than any of the assorted generic branded units.
I purchased this on a Black Friday special and wasn't expecting much for the price, but I've been pleasantly surprised. All my other tools are Milwaukee M18. I needed to clear some brush and vines that were a pain with lopping shears and small enough to be annoying with my larger chainsaws. This little thing turned out to be great. I used this one on anything from 1/2 inch to 3-4 inch and love it for smaller stuff. The fact that you can use it one handed is why I chose it over the Milwaukee Hatchet. You can hold limbs, vines, or saplings so they don't bounce around while you're cutting them.
I thought this was a joke but I actually love it. It really works
